Heartland

Heartland

Kiss my lips, bud into bloom
collect, reflect over too soon
scratch and scrawl, aggressive bite
vomit, panic, don’t love me tonight.
stroke and caress with tenderness
pages and sheets, written and bitten
love into blood, sharp point, gentle brush
fingers and lace exploring that place
the smooth with the rough
of love and lust.
‘Heartland’ was created in 2008, it stands just under three metres in height and 2 metres in width. It is made with collaged images extracted from past sketch books, paint, plaster and lace.
With thanks to Robert Wyatt for audio track to Heartland.

The wall is flaking
and thoughts breaking
all is still, quiet as a sound
with sight to see
tap on a key
water or music
it’s just you and me

The Death of Actaeon

The Death of Actaeon

Did time tell desire of
the beast within
whistle or call
your face said it all
black into light, velvet night
arrogance and anger
she scratched a scream
skin and skinned
red, on my dream
